A senator for Dutch Country

Pennsylvania state Sen. James Andrew Malone wrote lesbian fan fiction and backed drag-queen story hours at a public library. Matt Mercer’s Breitbart exclusive is the source. Lancaster County children are not an aesthetic.

Malone represents the 36th Senate district covering Lancaster County — Dutch Country home to Amish and Mennonite communities known for socially conservative faith. Breitbart notes he won a special election by about 500 votes in a district Trump carried by 15 points in 2024. Since at least October 2023 according to documentation provided to Breitbart he published Tumblr stories featuring lesbian characters in intimate scenes then deleted the account once Breitbart began investigating. In 2024 after a Drag Queen Story Hour for an all-ages audience at a Lancaster County public library was canceled Malone said it was sad the event got negative presentation and that this kind of come-if-you-want event can provide kids with a broader experience of life in general. Gov. Josh Shapiro filmed a video calling Malone the real deal a thoughtful commonsense leader and urged his reelection. That is not Dutch Country common sense. That is a senator asking faithful parents to treat their children as a broader experience.

Being a Christian in America this week is refusing to confuse fanfic with fitness for office and refusing to confuse a canceled story hour with bigotry. Keep the children. Keep the faith. And do not confuse a midterm with the least of these.
