About JesusVoter

Illustrated JesusVoter founder family portrait
A family illustration for JesusVoter. Not a camera photo, and not a campaign picture.

JesusVoter is a family project. We publish a plain-English values guide so you can compare the names on a long ballot before you vote. No party, PAC, or campaign owns the site.

Open now for November 3, 2026: Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. Florida includes every county. The other six guides have scored cards on the state page. Read how we score if you want the rules behind the letters.

Who runs this

JesusVoter is an independent editorial project. It is not a campaign committee, a party office, or a government site. No one can buy a higher score. When a public source shows we missed something, we correct the card.

What we score — 45 / 35 / 20

Every scored candidate gets three numbers that add to a 100-point values total. The weights are public and fixed:

  1. Christian score (45) — public faith-and-family policy. Explicit public faith in Jesus Christ is weighted heaviest. We also look at pro-life positions, religious liberty, parental rights, marriage and family policy, and opposition to gender ideology in schools and sports. Quiet institutional conservatism is not the same as a Christ-named campaign.
  2. Constitution score (35) — limited government, borders, original meaning of the Constitution, free enterprise, fiscal restraint, and health freedom. On the cards this used to be labeled “paleo-conservative.” The ideas did not change; the name did.
  3. GOP score (20) — Republican registration, platform alignment, conservative voting record, and support from Republican institutions. An “R” next to a name is not a perfect score. An “NPA” line is not automatically a low score if the office is structurally nonpartisan and the public record is Republican-aligned.

Four callout badges — Trump, DeSantis, Musk, and MAHA — sit next to the numbers. They are filters, not extra points, except that a real MAHA / health-freedom record can also raise the Constitution score. That exception is written up in callout badges explained and in how we score.

What A–F values letters mean

The letter is the 100-point values total — Christian + Constitution + GOP. It is not a moral grade and not a report on how hard we looked.

If we have not finished a numeric score, the live card says Scores coming soon. That watermark is not an F. David Jolly’s 4 / 5 / 1 is 10 — an F on this scale — after a real look at a Democratic gubernatorial figure, not a claim that Democrats were ignored.

Where the facts come from

We use public, checkable sources. Typical stack:

We do not invent candidates, fake winners, or write quotes we did not find. We do not treat a church bio or the words “faith and family” as a full policy grid. If two people in the same race have very different research depth, the letters should show that. If you need the official list of who is actually on your ballot, that is the county sample ballot — see how to read a Florida sample ballot.

What this is not

How to use the 2026 cycle guide

Start with your registration and your official sample ballot, then use our numbers as a values overlay. Florida’s primary is generally closed for party nominations, which is why party registration matters for church voters who care about Governor or U.S. Senate. That civic rule is separate from our scores — we explain it in Florida’s closed primary for church voters.

For the open governor’s race (the seat is term-limited), we published a side-by-side of the researched Republican field — Fishback, Donalds, Renner, Collins, and others — at Florida governor 2026 values. For Central Florida’s open county mayor’s race (Jerry Demings is term-limited), see Orange County mayor 2026. Deep county landing pages for the largest fields are linked from all 67 county guides, including Orange, Miami-Dade, Hillsborough, Broward, Duval, Palm Beach, Pinellas, and Brevard.

The next statewide date after the August 18 primary is November 3, 2026. Some nonpartisan races (including Orange County mayor if no one reaches 50 percent) can continue to a November runoff. Cabinet and legislative nominees who emerge in August meet the other party’s nominees in November. Always re-check the sample ballot when the general styles post.

Roadmap

JesusVoter is building a values guide for all 50 states. This year is a test run of at least 20 states. We will keep updating the site through the year as ballots and sources change.

Open now: Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. More states will open as the research is ready.

If a score or a sentence looks wrong, send a note from the contact page and include a campaign page, a news story, or a sample ballot we can open. Constructive notes are welcome. A claim we cannot check does not change a number by itself.
