Ms. Rachel and the toddlers

Ms. Rachel’s politics are now part of the show parents put on for toddlers, and parents are pushing back. Alana Mastrangelo’s Breitbart piece is the source. A two-year-old is not an audience for a gender lesson or a war slogan.

Breitbart reports that children’s YouTube and Netflix star Rachel Accurso — better known as Ms. Rachel — has drawn pushback from concerned parents after her political activism intensified around Gaza and the Israel-Hamas war with accusations that she boosts Hamas figures and amplifies claims later revealed as false. Homeschooling mother of six and Washington Examiner contributor Bethany Mandel told Fox News that Accurso only cares about one narrative that falsely calls what is happening in Gaza a genocide and that she amplifies numbers that are not real while accepting a Hamas narrative on every single thing. Mandel said Accurso cares more about activism than education and cited her hosting a non-binary musician as a guest on the show. Mandel warned that erasing sex for children is really very damaging in early development because one of the first ways toddlers learn to organize the world around them is by female and male and that taking that ability to categorize away is something human history has never done before. Last year Accurso called Palestinian photojournalist Motaz Azaiza her friend just days before he admitted he hid footage of Israeli hostages being beaten by a crowd in Gaza on October 7 2023 and earlier this year she faced scrutiny after she appeared to like a comment that said free America from the Jews. Mandel told parents to choose these entertainers wisely. A sing-along brand is not catechesis. A false genocide script is not mercy for a toddler. Male and female are not optional content.

Being a Christian in America this week is refusing to confuse a children’s brand with truth and refusing to confuse a Hamas narrative with care for the little ones who are just learning male and female. Keep the toddlers. Keep male and female. And do not confuse a sing-along with the Word that says God made them that way.
